Kaspersky Lab has presented the Cybersecurity Alphabet — a colorful and educational book in Kazakh for children aged 5 to 10. The publication will help parents introduce their children to the basics of digital literacy, teach them to recognize the tricks of online scammers, and understand the principles of safe behavior on the internet.
The alphabet includes 41 terms — from account and geolocation to phishing and chatbot. Each term is accompanied by a simple explanation and illustration, and the book ends with coloring pages to aid better memorization. More than 13 artists worked on the design, resulting in bright and diverse illustrations.
During adaptation, the authors took into account the cultural and linguistic features of Kazakhstan. Many terms were given child-friendly formulations: "cookie" became "cookie-файлдар," and complex words like "oversharing" or "phishing" are explained through playful examples. Letters of the Kazakh alphabet that are difficult to find words for, such as Ң, Ү, or Ұ, are integrated into the concepts.
The book is available for free, including in PDF format. According to company representatives, the cyber-alphabet is a full adaptation aimed at helping children in Kazakhstan learn about cybersecurity in an interesting, engaging, and native-language-friendly way.
