Kyrgyzstan intends to become a co-founder of the World AI Organization
Kyrgyzstan intends to join the group of founding states of the World Organization for Artificial Intelligence Cooperation. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the corresponding draft agreement and authorized the Head of the Presidential Administration to sign the document.
The new structure will become an independent intergovernmental international organization. Its headquarters will be located in Shanghai.
The organization is created exclusively for peaceful purposes — its mandate is strictly limited to the civilian use of artificial intelligence technologies.
The key tasks of the new global platform will be:
— coordination of standards: harmonization of unified governance rules, technical regulations, and national AI development strategies
— matching supply and demand: facilitating technology exchange and practical implementation of innovations among member states
— joint response: bridging the digital divide between countries and systematically addressing risks in the field of AI.
Management of the platform is entrusted to a two-tier system consisting of a Council and a Secretariat.
The organization's activities are planned to be funded through mandatory annual contributions from member states, commercial income from joint projects, as well as voluntary donations from governments, corporations, and private individuals.
The agreement remains open for signing until the end of July this year. The intergovernmental institute will officially begin its work immediately after three participating states deposit their instruments of ratification.
