A Kazakh developer has created an analog of Perplexity with local control and open-source code.
Kazakhstani developer Konstantin Kolomeitsev, Chief AI Officer of Sergek Group, presented the Agent Browser Workspace tool, positioned as an analog of AI search engines at the level of Perplexity.
The project is a free, open-source solution for searching and processing information in the browser. According to the developer, the tool uses Chrome to automatically open web pages, extract and structure data, and remove unnecessary interface elements.
Unlike most AI search engines, the system provides the user with full control over the workflow: manual adjustment of the search, authorization on resources, and intervention in the execution of tasks in real time are possible.
Special attention is given to local data processing — information is not transferred to cloud services, which, according to the developer, increases the level of privacy and control over data.
The installation of the tool is performed locally and takes a few minutes. The project code is available on GitHub.
