Kazakhstan presented an AI ecosystem to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region
A delegation from the UN ESCAP Special Working Group visited the International Artificial Intelligence Center alem.ai, with participants from 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Bangladesh, Georgia, India, China, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, and other states. This event marked another stage of international cooperation in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, being implemented in Kazakhstan as part of the declared Year of Digitalization and AI.
The guests familiarized themselves with the center's infrastructure and Kazakhstani solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as gained an understanding of the key directions for industry development. The visit took place within the framework of the work of the Special Working Group on the creation of the UN ESCAP Digital Solutions Center—an initiative discussed as early as September 2024 at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Digital Inclusion and Transformation.
Zhaslan Madiev, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Development and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented the participants with the Exponential Cluster concept and a comprehensive approach to the development of the AI ecosystem.

We are developing artificial intelligence as a unified ecosystem—from the institutional base to computing infrastructure and personnel training. This approach allows us not only to create technologies but also to implement them in the economy, public administration, and the social sphere. Our task is to ensure the scaling of AI solutions and their practical applicability at the regional level. We are open to exchanging experience and jointly developing technological initiatives within the framework of international cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation toured the key spaces of the center. The acquaintance began with the Museum of Singularity, where the evolution of artificial intelligence is demonstrated—from philosophical ideas of the 17th century to modern neural networks and generative models. Interactive exhibitions provide an insight into the capabilities of modern technologies.
In the Smart City zone, the delegation saw examples of practical applications of AI for managing urban infrastructure—in the areas of smart mobility, energy, and public safety. In the immersive cinema AI Cinema with 180° projection, the guests familiarized themselves with content created on the platform of the first Kazakhstani tech unicorn, Higgsfield AI.
Special attention was paid to innovative startups and projects aimed at the international market, such as:
— Weglobal AI — a platform for optimizing the work of school psychologists and career counselors
— NCSpeech — a decentralized AI infrastructure for forming datasets
— AMAN — a service for rapid notification and response to threats to children's safety
— Armeta AI — an intelligent system for automating the approval of construction projects
— WONK — a unified AI platform for school management with analytics and automation.
Representatives of the international working group noted the high interest in Kazakhstani digital solutions and see the country's potential as a regional hub for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, which strengthens its position on the international technological stage.
