Kazakhstan and DEC40 begin strategic cooperation in the field of Smart City and artificial intelligence
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation in the fields of Smart Region, Smart City, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and innovative regional development.
DEC40 is an international organization that unites cities, technology companies, scientific institutions, and international partners to promote advanced digital solutions, exchange best global practices, and implement joint projects in the field of smart cities.
The signing of the agreement opens up new opportunities for Kazakhstan to integrate its regions into the international Smart City ecosystem and develop partnerships with leading global developers of digital technologies.
Under the cooperation framework, the following is planned:
— Facilitating the implementation of advanced solutions in the fields of Smart City, artificial intelligence, and digital governance
— Attracting international technology companies and investors to implement projects in the regions of Kazakhstan
— Exchanging best global practices in the digital transformation of cities
— Involving representatives of Kazakhstan in international educational programs and professional development courses
— Organizing joint events, expert sessions, and business missions
— Developing international cooperation in the fields of innovation and the digital economy.
One of the first practical steps will be the formation of a list of Kazakhstan’s priority projects in the fields of Smart Region and Smart City. These projects will be presented to the international DEC40 community to seek technological solutions, strategic partners, and potential investors.
Additionally, the parties are exploring the possibility of hosting an international Smart City forum in Astana later this year, with the participation of DEC40 members, representatives of Kazakhstan’s regions, leading global technology companies, and the investment community. The forum will serve as a platform for presenting regional projects, conducting B2G and B2B meetings, and discussing financing mechanisms and the implementation of modern digital solutions.
Cooperation with DEC40 will become an important stage in implementing state policy on the digital transformation of regions, the development of artificial intelligence, and the adoption of Smart City technologies. It will also help attract international expertise, technologies, and investments to improve the quality of life for citizens and ensure the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s cities.
Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The signing of the agreement with DEC40 opens direct access for Kazakhstan’s regions to an international network of technology companies, best global practices, and investment opportunities. Our task is not only to implement modern technologies but also to create conditions under which each region can realize its own AI Native City projects with the involvement of international partners.
