At the Kazakhstan Growth Forum 2026, Kaspi.kz CEO Mikhail Lomtadze announced the transition to the Kaspi AI (Kaspi 3.0) model, where artificial intelligence will become the foundation of the ecosystem. The company launched the AI assistant Kasper on July 1, 2026, and it is already being used by approximately 1 million customers. The assistant operates in Kazakh and Russian, has access to a catalog of over 20 million products, and responds within three seconds, doubling the speed of product search compared to the standard process.
Kaspi.kz plans to transition from a super-app with a set of separate services to a new model in which artificial intelligence will help users solve everyday tasks. This was announced by co-founder and CEO of Kaspi.kz Mikhail Lomtatidze at the Kazakhstan Growth Forum 2026. As part of the forum, Kaspi.kz also became the winner in the Deal of The Year nomination.
As early as 2013, when the Kaspi Store strategy was being developed, the company considered the idea of using AI to help users choose products. Now, this concept is being implemented through its own AI assistant Kasper, which the company launched on July 1, 2026.
The goal of Kasper is to become a personal AI assistant for every Kazakhstani. According to Lomtatidze, it is already used by about 1 million Kaspi clients. Currently, the assistant works with e-commerce purchases: a user can describe the desired product in natural language or voice, and Kasper will clarify their needs, compare options, and help choose the right product. The assistant works in Kazakh and Russian and has access to a catalog of more than 20 million products.
Speed is one of the key requirements for an AI product. Currently, Kasper responds in approximately three seconds. According to Kaspi.kz, using the assistant also speeds up product search: adding a product to favorites takes half the time, and adding to the cart takes 30% less time compared to the standard process.
To achieve such speed, the company has to change its internal processes. For personalization, it is not enough to quickly analyze data — they must be available almost in real time, and the analysis result must quickly turn into an answer or action understandable to the user.
Kaspi.kz also wants to accelerate the development and launch of new services while maintaining the necessary level of personalization. This should allow adding new features to the ecosystem faster.
The next stage will be expanding AI capabilities beyond product search. A user will be able to formulate a task, and the personal assistant will determine their intent and help perform the necessary actions within the Kaspi ecosystem.
Thus, Kaspi views AI not as a separate function within the app, but as the foundation for the next stage of ecosystem development — Kaspi 3.0, or Kaspi AI.
