How "Aristan" is preparing a new generation of defenders of digital Kazakhstan
At the specialized lyceum "Aristan," a cybersecurity and unmanned aerial systems lab has opened—a space where students learn to fly, program, and protect the country's digital sky.
Author - Mansur Ismagulov
The initiative was implemented with the support of Timur Kulibayev’s Halyk Foundation and the NNEF Public Foundation.

Technologies That Drive the Future
The laboratory is equipped with everything necessary for hands-on practice: DJI and iFlight drones, FPV systems, simulators, laptops, and engineering equipment.
Now, liceum students do not just read about digital technologies—they design, assemble, and operate real unmanned aerial vehicles.
During classes, students master flight path programming, model communication systems, and configure data transmission channels—all within the logic of a genuine engineering process: from idea to prototype.
“We want liceum students to feel like researchers and developers, not just schoolchildren completing lab assignments,” the liceum notes.
Safety in the Digital World
The second focus area is cybersecurity. Here, liceum students learn how to protect data, identify vulnerabilities in software and networks, and counter phishing and cyberattacks.
This high level of training creates a solid foundation for their future professional development in the field of information security. The curriculum is built on a practical approach: students master real-world tools and methods for information protection, learn to identify vulnerabilities, and analyze digital risks.
The “Aristan” team has already made its mark at Capture the Flag (CTF) championships, where students solve real-world cybersecurity challenges: hacking test systems, finding weak points, and repelling opponents’ attacks.

Voices of a Generation That Changes the Rules
Sultanali Masimov, Cybersecurity Track
Here, I realized that cybersecurity is not just about code and networks, but also about strategy and teamwork. We now have everything we need to learn at the level of real professionals. Thank you to the NNEF and Halyk foundations for this opportunity.
Timur Beisen, Unmanned Systems Track
I have dreamed of the sky since childhood. At “Aristan,” I learned to operate drones, design them, and solve practical tasks. Modern equipment has opened new horizons for us—it is incredibly valuable.
Investing in Education Is Investing in the Country
Nariman Abilshaikov, Managing Director of Halyk Foundation
One of the key areas of the foundation is education. Over the past few years, we have allocated more than 2.5 billion tenge to develop this sector.
“Aristan” is at the forefront of Kazakhstani education, and we want its liceum students to have access to the best technologies and laboratories.
We are investing in those who will tomorrow safeguard the country’s digital future.
About the Foundations
The “Aristan” Liceum is part of the structure of the NNEF Public Foundation, established by Dinara Kulibayeva. The foundation funds education at the liceum, providing the opportunity for free schooling. Under the foundation’s management are innovative kindergartens, international schools, and leading universities in the country.
The foundation’s goal is to create a continuous education ecosystem where students gain access to modern technologies, quality education, and opportunities for personal growth.
Halyk Foundation is a private charitable foundation founded by Timur Kulibayev, implementing systemic projects in the fields of education, sports, and sustainable development.
The foundation supports educational initiatives aimed at preparing a new generation of engineers, IT specialists, and leaders of Kazakhstan’s digital economy.
