An IT hub called T-Factory will open in the buildings of the old Almaty tea packaging factory. It will include Academie One, a programming school operating on the 01Edu educational platform, created by Nicolas Sadirac, one of the co-founders of the 42 programming school.
The project is managed by the team of Erdos Mandybaev, a graduate of Columbia University, an investor in the Method Coding School, and one of the promoters of IT education in Kazakhstan. The investor of Academie One is Dzhambul Revshanov, the founder of the largest private stressed assets fund in Kazakhstan.
Anyone aged 18 to 42 can enroll in the school; there is no need to have programming or math skills, or to provide results from the National Testing Center (ENT) or other exams. The school's concept is based on the idea of Peer-to-Peer Learning. Academie One will train programmers for free: without teachers, lectures, grades, ENT, or other elements of traditional education. However, after two years of study, students will be required to work for two years at a partner company, Avantage One, which will sell IT services to major local players or export them to global markets.
