About Us

Bakhyt. I am the founder and head of D&D Group, a company specializing in IT development. We focus on creating services for the automotive and real estate sectors. Two years ago, we launched «Nedvizhka.kz» — a smart real estate search service that already receives more than 500,000 visits per month and features around 2,000 new listings daily.

Asel. Recently, I took a career break to dedicate more time to my children and family. Previously, I worked at JSC «Kazteleport», where I headed the Design and Service Development Department, and before that, I was Deputy Director of the Department at JSC «Centras Insurance».

We met 13 years ago at the Barcamp IT conference in Almaty, where I was a volunteer and Bakhyt was a participant. After that, we started dating, soon got married, and enrolled in the Master’s program at KazNU in «Information Systems». During my thesis defense, I was eight months pregnant, and the dissertation committee grilled Bakhyt on behalf of both of us! We have three children: two daughters and a son.

How we entered the IT field

Bakhyt. Since childhood, we were drawn to technology — our parents are engineers, so our inclination towards exact sciences was instilled from an early age. After obtaining higher education in IT, we both decided to work in our field and develop specifically as IT specialists.

Asel. Currently, I am more focused on my family, as the children are growing up, and they need more attention before entering adolescence.

Bakhyt, as a startup leader, works on a tight schedule — 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, and we reserve Sundays for family time.

Distribution of responsibilities

Bakhyt. We consider ourselves a traditional family: Asel handles household chores, and I provide financial support. But if one of us is tired, the other is always ready to step in.

Sundays are our family day, which we spend with the children.

In the mornings, Asel and I try to exercise together or at least go for a walk along the Terrenkur.

Family traditions

Asel. We try to spend weekends with the children — it is important to us that this time is quality and fulfilling.

Among our values are kindness, mutual support, and understanding, and we want to instill them in our children through our own example.

Combining household duties and work

Asel. Like any profession, IT requires attention and continuous learning. This field is dynamic, and one must keep up with new technologies. There is a workload, but I think it is the same in any profession. It is important to be able to find a balance between work and home.

Recommendations for a happy family life

Bakhyt and Asel. The main thing is to listen to yourself and your partner. A family consists of two people, and only their opinion matters. In difficult moments, it is important to remember what binds you and why you chose each other.

Working on relationships is a joint effort that requires effort from both sides.

Bakhyt and Asel. IT families differ from others in that we always have someone who can set up a router or reinstall Windows!

We can discuss any technical novelty and delve into the details, even fantasizing a bit about how it could be improved.

And we always treat any bugs in IT systems with understanding and never judge them.
