IT Park Uzbekistan presented MIT's potential in the country's technological ecosystem

IT Park Uzbekistan, together with MIT’s Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship, presented the potential of Uzbekistan’s technological ecosystem and its integration into the global innovation market.

As part of the collaboration, an MIT delegation led by Executive Director Dina H. Sherif visited Uzbekistan and held a series of meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park, the scientific community, and the startup ecosystem. The parties discussed the prospects for long-term partnership and the development of innovative entrepreneurship in the country.

MIT’s Kuo Sharper Center specializes in supporting innovation in developing countries: since its establishment, the center has assisted more than 600 innovators from 67 countries, and the companies they have founded serve over 17 million users worldwide.

A key area of cooperation will be the development of DeepTech and scientific research projects. Priorities include establishing centers in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced manufacturing technologies, energy, and autonomous systems. These areas align with Uzbekistan’s strategy for developing high-tech industries.

The parties also discussed expanding international cooperation, including educational programs, knowledge exchange, and startup support. Special attention is being paid to creating conditions for Uzbek projects to enter global markets and to attract foreign investment.

Today, more than 750 startups are already operating in Uzbekistan, with over 147 of them having secured investments. The country ranks among the top 100 global startup ecosystems and demonstrates rapid growth in the technology sector in Central Asia.

It is expected that cooperation with MIT will strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as a regional IT hub, accelerate the development of innovative infrastructure, and help integrate local startups into the global technological ecosystem.
