IT Park Uzbekistan discusses the creation of an international startup community in New York
The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation, as part of its visit to the United States, held a series of meetings with representatives of the technology and investment ecosystem, as well as with the Uzbek diaspora and IT community.
During the visit, IT Park Uzbekistan representatives met with key players in the US technology and investment ecosystem, including Spherion, Effectiff, VentureSpan, Venture University, Talos Capital, Cornell Tech, RepStack, and Elpis Labs.
A key topic was strengthening the venture ecosystem. For instance, discussions with Venture University focused on launching acceleration programs for investors, including venture funds and business angels.
With Cornell Tech, the delegation reviewed approaches to expanding innovation hubs and teaching entrepreneurship, including programs for PhD students.
Additionally, IT Park Uzbekistan representatives participated in a roundtable with Elpis Labs, Empire, and NY Tech Alliance, where mechanisms for growing tech communities and international partnerships were discussed.
Particular attention was given to the development of future initiatives: in particular, the organization of UZBEK STARTUP SUMMIT NYC 2026 is being discussed, which could bring together technology leaders, startups, investors, and the diaspora to form a sustainable professional community.
RepStack and Effectiff also confirmed their interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan — the companies are considering opportunities to enter the country's market and interact with the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem.
In the format of an open discussion, participants presented their projects and exchanged experience. Particular interest was shown in initiatives supporting startups founded by people of Uzbek origin, including assistance with investments and entry into new markets.
Additionally, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora and the US technology community. The event took place at the Silkroad Innovation Hub and brought together more than 50 participants — entrepreneurs, IT specialists, and diaspora leaders from Silicon Valley and other technology centers.
The main goal of the meeting was to strengthen ties with compatriots abroad and develop international cooperation in the IT sector.
Abdulkhad Kuchkarov, advisor to the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, and Aset Abdualiev, CEO of Silkroad Innovation Hub, spoke at the meeting. In their speeches, they noted that the diaspora plays an important role in promoting Uzbekistan as a developing IT hub and can actively participate in the development of the country's technology ecosystem.
IT Park Uzbekistan representatives shared information about the current strategy and opportunities for IT companies, startups, and export teams. Particular attention was paid to cooperation with international partners and the development of projects in North America.
Participants discussed several key areas:
— development of IT services exports and creation of international teams
— launching startups with entry into the US market
— attracting investments and developing venture projects
— attracting foreign companies into the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem.
Programs for interacting with the diaspora were also presented. Among them is the Bonus System, which allows participants to help attract foreign companies to IT Park Uzbekistan and receive compensation for this. The second initiative is Uzbekistan Connect, aimed at creating a network of technology ambassadors to develop international ties and support startups.
Additionally, ideas were discussed regarding the engagement of students and young professionals, launching educational and research partnerships, internships, and promoting IT products to global markets.
As a result of the visit, the parties agreed to develop partnerships, including launching joint initiatives in the fields of investment, education, and startup support. IT Park Uzbekistan notes that interest from international companies and investors opens up additional opportunities for the country's integration into the global technology ecosystem. The delegation will also continue its visit by participating in a number of upcoming events in Boston.
