About the Community
GDG Tashkent was founded in 2015 as a non-profit IT community. The main idea of our community is to build a bridge between local IT talents in Uzbekistan and the global technology community.
Google Developer Group is one of the largest networking communities worldwide, with over 8,000 GDG chapters. We strive to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, experience, and creating new opportunities for professional growth in the tech field. Over time, we have grown into one of the largest IT communities in Uzbekistan, uniting more than 5,000 members.
We aim to foster a sharing culture where all participants share their experiences to gain new knowledge from others, following the culture of shared/community learning.

Our key tasks:
— organizing educational events to enhance technical literacy
— creating a networking platform for IT professionals
— promoting modern technologies and best development practices
— supporting beginner developers and students in their professional growth
— strengthening ties between the local IT community and international experts
— contributing to the development of Uzbekistan's IT ecosystem.
Community Members
Our community is open to anyone interested in technology and development. It includes developers of all levels—from beginners to experienced professionals, IT students, UX/UI designers, project managers, and tech entrepreneurs.
Anyone can join the community—simply subscribe to our social media channels and attend events.
Events for Community Members
We organize various formats of events:
— regular technical meetups
— workshops led by experienced specialists
— annual conferences such as Google I/O Extended, GDG DevFest
— hackathons and practical workshops
— informal networking meetings.
Most of our events are open not only to community members but also to all interested participants.

How the Community Helps with Development
Our community supports member development by providing access to up-to-date knowledge and technologies, the opportunity to learn from experienced specialists, and practical experience presenting at meetups. Members can expand their professional network through networking, receive mentoring support, and implement their own initiatives within the community.
Successful Projects
Among the community's successful projects are annual technology conferences featuring international speakers, a series of educational workshops for beginner developers, and collaborations with regional tech communities. A particular source of pride is the stories of members who have progressed from beginner developers to tech leads.
Plans
The community plans to expand the geography of its events, covering more cities in Uzbekistan. One of the key initiatives will be the launch of a mentoring program for beginner developers. We also aim to strengthen international cooperation with other GDG communities. Additionally, we plan to organize a series of workshops focused on modern technologies.
