About the community
GDG or Google Developer Groups is a global community of developers organized with the support of Google. It is intended for everyone interested in Google technologies and software development.
GDG was created by Google in 2011. This is a global initiative aimed at supporting and developing developer communities around the world. From the very beginning, the goal was to create a platform where developers could learn, share knowledge and experience, and find like-minded people.
The main goal of GDG is to promote the development and support of developer communities and various IT specialists. The core principles of GDG include inclusivity, support, education, and collaboration.
GDG Bishkek was created in 2014. The initiator of the community's creation was a group of developer enthusiasts, such as Roman Kononov, who continues to help our team, for which we are separately grateful! It is because of such enthusiastic people who strive to create a platform for sharing knowledge and experience that the entire IT community develops.

The main goal of GDG Bishkek is the development and support of the local community of IT specialists. The community organizes various events, such as lectures, workshops, and meetups, to help participants improve their skills, learn about the latest technologies and tools, and find like-minded people and potential project partners. GDG Bishkek strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone interested in technologies and software development.
The main tasks that GDG Bishkek sets for itself are:
— education and training: conducting seminars, hackathons, lectures, and masterclasses to increase the level of knowledge and skills of participants. Sharing knowledge about new Google technologies, such as Android, Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, and others
— creating and supporting the community: facilitating the development of local developer communities and IT specialists.
Providing a platform for networking, communication, and sharing experience and knowledge among students, young professionals, and experienced professionals.

Events for community members
GDG Bishkek organizes a variety of events and initiatives for its members, as well as for everyone interested in Google technologies.

Often, more than 500 people attend DevFest, and among the speakers are local and international professionals.

Plans
The most significant and large-scale event of GDG Bishkek is DevFest. Preparation for the conference begins at least six months in advance to ensure a high level of organization and a diverse program. Leading IT companies from Kyrgyzstan and other countries are involved in participating in DevFest, and foreign experts from companies such as Google, Microsoft, Uber, Alibaba, and others are invited. The event is conducted in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English, which contributes to its scale. We are happy to welcome everyone — from beginner developers to experienced professionals, as well as students and enthusiasts wishing to deepen their knowledge.
Our community is currently actively preparing to hold GDG DevFest 2024 in late September, including organizing thematic reports and workshops. We are attracting Google experts and preparing a program for knowledge exchange.
