Google is opening Personal Intelligence to all Gemini and AI Mode users
Google announced the launch of Personal Intelligence for free users of the Gemini app, Chrome browser, and AI Mode. Previously, this feature was available only to users of the paid Google AI plan, but now it is open to everyone using AI Mode in the United States.
Personal Intelligence integrates with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and other services, as well as Google Photos, YouTube, Search, Maps, and other Google-owned apps. The feature analyzes your data, including text, photos, and videos, to provide personalized responses that best match your interests and needs, without requiring you to specify details in your queries.
For example, Personal Intelligence can help troubleshoot device issues by providing specific step-by-step instructions, including restarting or resetting to factory settings, based on your device model from your purchase history. It helps plan routes and meals during airport layovers, taking into account your preferences, layover times, and exact gates; it allows you to create personalized travel itineraries considering your favorite places and interests; and it helps discover new hobbies and interests suited specifically to you.
Using Personal Intelligence requires a personal Google account. The feature appears in the account menu when it becomes available, and users can disable data usage from individual apps if needed. Currently, the feature is gradually becoming available to free users of the Gemini app and Gemini in Chrome in the United States, as well as to all AI Mode users.
