Raising investment, along with the growth opportunities it brings, is one of the most challenging tasks for a startup. However, founders from Karaganda now have the chance not only to present their products to business angels but also to discuss the potential of their projects with them in person. On October 31, leading venture investors from Central Asia will visit the mining capital.
The meeting will take place as part of the Terricon Connect forum, organized by the Karaganda startup ecosystem Terricon Valley. The event will be the first large-scale event of its kind in the region, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and IT industry experts.
The main part of the event will take place at the "House of Friendship," featuring a startup exhibition, a startup battle, and a conference with top speakers from the IT and digital sectors. The closed meeting between founders and investors/business angels will be held separately in an informal setting.
Special guests at the event will be individuals who shape the future of venture investment in the region.
Murat Abdrakhmanov, one of the most influential business angels in Central Asia, who has invested over $25 million in startups worldwide.
Bakht Niyazov, founder of Falconry Fund, co-founder of MOST Holding and Umay Angels Club.
Yelzhan Kusekbayev, an investor with more than 90 deals and six successful exits, CEO of the MA7 Angels club.
Mirat Akhmetsadik, CEO of MOST Holding, managing a portfolio worth over $50 million and more than 30 startups. These investors were among the founders of Higgsfield AI — the first Kazakh startup to achieve unicorn status.
The climax of the event will be Terricon V-Night — a closed meeting of startuppers and investors, the main goal of which is live communication and new networking in an informal setting. For founders, this is an opportunity to find future partners and funding; for business angels and investors, it is a chance to identify the potential of interesting projects.
Terricon Connect promises to become a significant milestone for the regional startup ecosystem. For the first time, Karaganda will host those who shape the future of venture investment in Central Asia — and perhaps it is here that the next Kazakh unicorn will be found.
When: October 31
