The EBRD will allocate up to $15 million for women entrepreneurs and youth in Tajikistan
OJSC “Eskhata Bank” and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement to provide Eskhata Bank with a financing package of up to $15 million. The funds will be directed toward expanding access to financing for women entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs across the country.
The new agreement opens up access to long-term financial resources for thousands of entrepreneurs, contributing to job creation, the development of innovative projects, and sustainable economic growth in the country.
The financing includes two strategically important areas:
— up to $12 million will be provided under the Youth in Business program to support micro-, small, and medium-sized businesses established or led by young entrepreneurs under the age of 35
— up to $3 million will be directed under the Women in Business program to expand access to financing for women entrepreneurs, strengthen their businesses, and unlock the economic potential of women in Tajikistan.

Support from the EBRD will enable Eskhata to expand its range of financial solutions for young entrepreneurs and women, contributing to the development of sustainable entrepreneurship, job creation, and further growth of Tajikistan’s economy.
Investing in the future of the economy
Today, youth and women are among the most active participants in Tajikistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. However, they are more likely to face limited access to financing during the startup and growth stages of their businesses. The new agreement will significantly expand opportunities for implementing promising projects, stimulate the development of regional entrepreneurship, and increase financial accessibility for thousands of entrepreneurs nationwide.
