About Me

For 10 years, I worked in the banking sector in Kyrgyzstan. I progressed from a call center operator to a business analyst. A few months ago, I decided to move to the United States. In one of my Instagram Reels, I saw the phrase: “This is not migration, but an adventure” — that’s exactly how I feel. I am searching for myself and opportunities, starting from scratch, just like after graduating from university. Currently, I am trying my hand in the logistics field. It is encouraging that employers take into account my education and previous experience in Kyrgyzstan during interviews.

Like many of my peers, I grew up watching American movies and listening to American music, always dreaming of visiting and living in the States. This childhood dream drives me, and when the opportunity to fly away arose, I made a firm decision and was glad about it.

Already in the States, I realized that no matter how much you want to fulfill your dream, the adaptation process will be difficult and will take time. There will be many turning points, but the main thing is not to lose heart, believe in yourself, be brave and quick-witted.

Where I Gain New Knowledge

Currently, I am studying accounting, dispatching, safety management, and logistics. I will continue to improve my knowledge in business analysis and product/project management, in the areas where I worked in Kyrgyzstan.

The most accessible platforms for learning for me are Coursera and HubSpot Academy. You can also find various courses on LinkedIn. The only thing is that you need to set aside time for this and complete all the lessons.

Environment

I enjoy making new acquaintances because everyone has their own story and experience. I learn and discover something new for myself, for example, trading. Currently, I communicate more with people from the logistics field, as it is related to my work.

Recently, I went for a run wearing a T-shirt with Cyrillic writing on it. A girl noticed it, guessed that I speak Russian, and we started talking. For example, I found running partners at the running track. And today there are many opportunities to find them online — through Telegram channels, Instagram, and other platforms.

Where I Spend My Free Time

In my free time, I love discovering new places, riding the subway in downtown, sipping coffee, taking photos and videos, and then editing them. Once, by happy chance, I even worked as a videographer during the opening of a clothing boutique and earned $150 for three hours. True, I spent half of the money on taxi and food, but I still gained interesting experience.

Aside from work, I run. Thus, I met a team of runners with whom I now train. I participated in a race twice: the first time I came fifth in my age category, and the second time — fourth.

Where to Buy What

I prefer Apple gadgets, especially when it comes to mobile phones and laptops, as they work quickly, do not require frequent reboots, and offer many interesting features. I also have Apple Watch, but since I run, I plan to buy a Garmin watch. They are convenient and easy to use and hold a charge for several days, which is important to me. I like their design, even though they look bulky.

I prefer to order necessary items on Amazon, as the product can be delivered the next day — this is convenient and fast. I also noticed that Facebook Marketplace is popular here, where you can find literally everything.
