Viktor Ryzhkov, under the guidance of Vitaly Bazarov, created the Smart Bridge system to protect bridges from floods. Sensors monitor the water level, and an Arduino microcontroller activates the lifting mechanism. The project won first place in the "First Step to a Great Invention" competition.
Viktor Ryzhkov from the Alexandrovskaya School in the Kostanay district, under the guidance of teacher Vitaliy Bazarikin, created an innovative Smart Bridge system that prevents bridge destruction during sudden water level rises.
The automated system responds to critical water level increases: sensors detect the threat, and a programmable Arduino microcontroller activates the bridge lifting mechanism, protecting it from destruction even in strong currents.
The development demonstrates high potential for practical application. In the future, Viktor plans to improve the model by adding a stepwise bridge lifting function and integrating a radio module that will automatically send notifications to emergency services, enabling them to respond promptly to changes.
The project has already received recognition, taking first place in the republican competition for innovative ideas "First Step to a Great Invention" in the nomination "Technical Design in the Field of Industry."
