Zuckerberg announced the creation of Meta Compute for large-scale computing power
The way we design, invest, and collaborate to build this infrastructure will become a strategic advantage.
Meta announced the creation of a new "top-level" initiative called Meta Compute, aimed at developing data centers and infrastructure for artificial intelligence. According to Zuckerberg, the company plans to build "dozens of gigawatts" of computing power this decade and "hundreds of gigawatts and more" over time.

The Meta Compute initiative will be led by Santosh Janardhan, the company's head of infrastructure, and Daniel Gross, who joined Meta from the AI startup Safe Superintelligence. They will work closely with Dina Powell McCormick, recently appointed as president and vice-chair of Meta. Powell McCormick will focus on partnering with governments and sovereign organizations to build and finance infrastructure. Previously, she served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump and spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs.
Meta also announced plans to invest $600 billion in infrastructure and jobs in the United States by 2028, including data centers for AI.
