On October 1, 2022, the Cleek app for job searching among "blue-collar" workers was launched. The platform connects over 40,000 job seekers and 1,000 employers, including Burger King, Sheraton, and Hilton. A launch in Tashkent is planned for the first quarter.
How We Started
On October 1, 2022, the Cleek app launched, simplifying the job search process. The app helps job seekers find employment via a map or by contacting employers directly, while assisting businesses in creating job postings and finding staff from a database of "blue-collar" workers.
The app significantly speeds up and simplifies the search for job vacancies or resumes.
Target Audience
The primary target audience is "blue-collar" workers. In other words, a "blue-collar" worker is a member of the working class, a hired employee paid on an hourly or piecework basis.
The app's team aims to convey the value of such employees' labor and demonstrate that these are also professions that require effort and passion for one's work.
The Idea Behind the Product
I already had experience launching IT startups and engaging in entrepreneurial activities. My second-to-last project was Saqtau, a service for storage and moving, which operates as both a business and a project. We needed human resources, such as call center staff and movers. Due to high staff turnover, there was a need to find these employees. At that time, the traditional method was searching on OLX or posting job ads in various Instagram groups.
As a result, I found personnel only through connections and acquaintances, not through groups, meaning it was a complicated and lengthy process.
At that point, I realized that the "blue-collar" niche was not digitized. There was no single, high-quality solution that would allow finding such employees quickly and in a convenient, comfortable manner. At that moment, I began studying and analyzing this niche to understand how to properly solve this problem in the labor market. I concluded that it should be an aggregator where everything is conveniently modified and organized, with a simple registration system. Most importantly, one could view only this type of vacancy and search for personnel from a specific segment among "blue-collar" workers.
Launch
First, I needed to validate the hypothesis that creating this product made sense. I decided to validate the concept by creating social media pages to check demand and the market from both the user's and the employer's perspectives. After that, we began assembling the team and raising investments, and then moved on to developing and implementing the solution.
During the work process, most questions were related to the technical aspects, as well as issues arising from entrepreneurial activities that are resolved as they arise, such as marketing and legal matters.
How the App Works
Initially, the idea was that the Cleek mobile app would be a single platform for both employers and job seekers, with the ability to switch roles.
It also features minimal steps for registration and creating job postings. Users generally do not particularly enjoy going through registration, so we included a function to view all job vacancies with direct contact to the employer without the need to create a resume or register on the platform. This way, we do not burden the user with formalities.
In addition to basic filters by industry, pay, and schedule, the app offers the ability to view vacancies on a map and search within a minimum radius that can be adjusted. Location plays an important role, as it is considered that these are not the types of professions for which one would travel to the other end of the city. Typically, this is work located within a radius of two to three kilometers.
For employers, the registration system is also not complicated. For example, a vacancy can be published in two to three steps. Moreover, during registration as a job seeker, there is an option to switch and create a resume. This takes less than one minute. The most important thing is the speed, simplicity, and convenience of the app, even with poor internet connectivity.
Team
Currently, more than 15 people are working on the Cleek project. Among them, the team includes developers, technical specialists, marketers, mobile videographers, SMM specialists, and project managers.
Achievements
We are trying to create a domestic product for the market and provide value to our target audience. Since the technical launch in August, we currently have more than 40,000 job seekers and 1,000 employers.
Major companies such as Burger King, Sheraton, "Mekhta," Hilton, and "Kazpost" are already connected to our platform.
Plans
In the first quarter of this year, we plan to launch in Tashkent.
