Basic minimum or luxurious maximum in digital security
In the previous article, our author, Evgeny Pitolin, explained why AI is a must-have, but critical thinking remains more important than any neural networks. In the new article, he explains why traditional protection methods are outdated and what should truly be considered the basic minimum for digital security.

We are gradually focusing on our digital habits, but a lot has changed.
What was once considered protection is now either no longer reliable or can no longer be considered the "foundation."
1. Security Perimeters.
In the past, it seemed that if you worked within a corporate network — you were protected. But the world has changed: remote work, freelancing, multiple workplaces — and now there is no more "hard perimeter." Security is built around the person, not the office.
2. Antivirus.
Yes, it is necessary, but relying solely on it is like locking the door with a latch and leaving the windows wide open. Antivirus provides protection, but it does not solve everything.
3. Two-Factor Authentication.
A classic. But if you yourself have handed over your password to attackers — no 2FA will save you. This is an important layer of protection, but not a panacea.
4. Passwords.
Once it was believed that a complex password solves everything. Today, this is not enough: you need password managers, regular password changes, and using different passwords for different services. If one leaks — the consequences can be serious.
5. Updates.
Many still dismiss updates as "trivialities." In reality, this is one of the key ways to close vulnerabilities. Delayed updates are an open door for hackers.
Conclusion: security is not a set of checkboxes on a checklist, but a constant habit of critically evaluating your actions online.
