Apple announced the release of the new iPad Air, equipped with the M4 chip and increased memory. The device delivers a significant performance boost while maintaining the same starting price. Faster CPU and GPU cores accelerate content editing and gaming tasks, while the updated Neural Engine, higher memory bandwidth, and 50% more unified memory make the iPad Air a more powerful device for artificial intelligence workloads.
With the M4 chip, the new iPad Air operates up to 30% faster than the M3 model and up to 2.3 times faster than the M1 version. The tablet features Apple’s proprietary N1 and C1X connectivity chips, supporting Wi-Fi 7, 5G, eSIM, and GPS, ensuring a more stable and faster wireless and cellular connection, enabling use almost anywhere.
The iPad Air will be available in 11-inch and 13-inch display versions and in four colors. The device runs iPadOS 26 with an updated windowing system, improved file management, enhanced Preview capabilities, and background task support. The tablet is equipped with advanced cameras, offers all-day battery life, and supports Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard accessories.
The starting price for the iPad Air remains unchanged: $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch model. Prices for educational institutions start at $549 and $749, respectively. Pre-orders open on March 4, with sales beginning on March 11.
