Apple introduced the AirPods Max 2 with improved noise cancellation and a translation feature.
Apple has introduced the second generation of its over-ear AirPods Max headphones. The device is powered by the H2 chip and features updated computational audio algorithms.
Active Noise Cancellation is up to 1.5 times more effective than in the previous model, allowing for better blocking of external sounds, including traffic and airplane noise. Transparency mode has also been improved, offering a more natural sound that helps users better orient themselves in their surroundings.
Sound quality has been enhanced with a new amplifier featuring an extended dynamic range. The headphones support Spatial Audio with more precise instrument localization, and when connected via USB-C, they offer lossless audio at 24-bit / 48 kHz and reduced latency, which is important for gaming and professional audio work.
The AirPods Max 2 include several smart features: Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts the balance between noise cancellation and transparency, Conversation Awareness lowers the volume during conversations, and Voice Isolation improves voice quality during calls. Additionally, real-time speech translation powered by Apple Intelligence has been added.
Special attention has been given to content creators: the headphones support studio-quality audio recording and can be used as a remote control for cameras.
Pre-orders will open on March 25, with sales starting early next month. The model will be available in five colors and priced at $549.
