Anthropic has introduced a new automation feature in Claude Code
Anthropic announced a new feature in the Claude Code developer tool — so-called “routines,” as well as a redesign of the Claude app for macOS.
The new feature allows creating repeatable automated tasks that run on a schedule or trigger. Execution occurs on Anthropic’s server infrastructure, so users do not need to keep their computers online for tasks to run.
The feature is available in research preview format and is aimed at developers using Claude Code to automate development processes. Now they no longer need to manually set up cron jobs, infrastructure, or additional tools — everything is built into the system. Use cases include automated tasks, API processes, and integrations with repositories, including GitHub.
Access to features depends on the subscription plan:
Pro — up to 5 runs per day
Max — up to 15
Team and Enterprise — up to 25.
At the same time, Anthropic updated the Claude Code interface within the Claude app for Mac. New features include the ability to run multiple sessions simultaneously in one window, a built-in terminal, file editing, HTML and PDF preview, and improved change viewing.
The update reflects Anthropic’s effort to expand Claude’s capabilities as a development and collaboration tool.
