American company GRU Space plans to build the first hotel on the Moon
GRU Space, an American company founded in San Francisco, has announced plans to build the world’s first hotel complex on the lunar surface to attract tourists and establish infrastructure for future interplanetary tourism.
According to the company, the project will be implemented in stages. The first mission, scheduled for 2029, will involve testing systems and conditions on the lunar surface, while the construction of a full-scale inflatable hotel is expected by 2032. This module, delivered from Earth, will be able to accommodate up to four guests for short stays, offering views of the lunar landscape and Earth.
In the future, GRU Space intends to expand the project by increasing the capacity of hotel modules to ten people and creating permanent structures around sites built using lunar regolith and robotic technologies.
