SABAH.lab and Moving Up Acceleration: Competitions and Programs for IT Specialists

We are sharing with you a selection of competitions and programs in which startups and IT professionals from Central Asia can participate.

Beeline Hackathon

An opportunity for undergraduate students to demonstrate creativity, receive valuable certificates and prizes, and get noticed by representatives of a major company.

Each team will solve one case study from Beeline and present the solution on the second day of the hackathon. The case studies will be presented in Russian.

TechGirls

— citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan

— aged 15 to 17 at the time of participation in the program – July 13, 2024: born between July 13, 2006, and July 13, 2009

— skills and strong interest in technology, engineering, and/or mathematics

— desire to pursue higher education and build a career in the technology sector.

Selected participants will go on a 25-day internship in the United States. Finalists will participate in an interactive technology and computer training program, and then travel to one of the following cities: Austin, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Detroit, Michigan; or Seattle, Washington, to explore networking and career opportunities.

SABAH.lab Acceleration

The Azerbaijani startup development center SABAH.lab has opened applications for the fifth wave of its acceleration program. As part of the program, startups receive support in the areas of development and preparation for attracting investors. The program classes will last for five months.

Participants will have access to educational sessions and a series of seminars. They can expect support from local and international mentors, as well as consulting on marketing, IT, and UX/UI.

AWS GameDay Case Championship

As part of AWS GameDay, participants will take on the role of employees at Unicorn Rentals, who will need to launch a set of microservices for their CTO. They will earn points by using services and responding to questions related to security.

Women's Business Accelerator Moving Up

The program is aimed at supporting women who own and manage businesses in their development, as well as their professional and personal growth. Participants will be able to improve their skills in business and personnel management.

The courses will cover the experience of business practitioners from Uzbekistan. Participants will learn about current tools for promoting business, attracting clients, increasing sales and profits, and will also have the opportunity to meet potential partners.

Women's Hack Day 2023

This is the third annual team competition, consisting of three rounds, in which students interested in software development, such as programmers, designers, and managers, work together to solve cases in three areas:

— product design

— mathematics

— competitive programming.
