A Pro-Data survey of 93 specialists showed that 42% use AI in their products, while 52% are in the pilot stage. The main obstacle (51%) is the ban on transferring data outside the country. 65% of respondents prefer their own equipment for running models.
Results
In 42% of surveyed companies, models or AI features are already operational in products. 52% are in the pilot, testing, or internal tool phase. 6% do not use AI.
When asked about the main obstacle to launching AI products, 51% of respondents cited data requirements: data cannot be transferred outside the country. 31% noted high or unpredictable costs, and 18% mentioned a shortage of available GPUs.
When asked where they would deploy AI models, 65% chose their own hardware, 23% chose a local provider’s cloud, and 13% chose a public cloud abroad.
Conclusions
Among technologically advanced IT teams, AI is moving from experiments to production. The launch of AI products is most often hindered by data requirements rather than a lack of graphics cards. Most respondents currently rely on their own hardware, while nearly one in four considers a local provider’s cloud.
Evgeny Vishnevsky, CEO Pro-Data
At this stage, infrastructure comes to the fore. Own GPU servers require significant investment, while a local cloud meets the same requirements: data stays within the country, capacity is available immediately, and you pay only for actual usage.
Data: Pro-Data survey

Survey Methodology
The survey was conducted by Pro-Data on October 16, 2026, at the DevOps Days Almaty conference, where the company served as a digital sponsor. Participants responded via an online form using a QR code, with a prize drawn among respondents. 93 specialists responsible for IT infrastructure and service operations answered: DevOps engineers, SREs, system administrators, and tech leads from banks, fintech, telecom, and e-commerce. Only one option could be selected per question. The results reflect the opinions of the conference participants, not the market as a whole.
