Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, powered by the Opus 5.5 model, for professionals and small businesses. It is available to Pro and Max subscribers in the US at no additional cost.
Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a personal AI agent that proactively notifies users about important tasks and continues working even when they put their phone aside. The new tool is designed for professionals and small business owners who have more tasks than they can keep track of.
Claude Duet runs on the Claude Opus 5.5 model and is available as a standalone app. It connects to the user’s work services, sends a brief morning summary of key items, and checks apps every few hours throughout the day. The agent sends messages only when something requires attention.
The agent handles both routine and more complex tasks. It can schedule meetings, find missed emails in Gmail and messages in Slack, draft responses, and check unpaid invoices in QuickBooks and Stripe. Additionally, Claude Duet can prepare contracts for signature via Docusign, write job postings for LinkedIn, create campaigns in Canva, manage a Shopify store, and generate dashboards, financial forecasts, and web application prototypes.
The agent has access to over 6,000 connectors and plugins from the Claude Marketplace. Its memory, skills, and connected apps are carried over from the user’s Claude account, so it requires almost no setup. Users can communicate with Claude Duet via text or voice in a single shared conversation.
The agent operates on its own virtual machine with a browser, so the user’s laptop or phone does not need to remain powered on. When a task is completed or requires review, Claude Duet sends a notification.
The agent can read, draft, and gather data on its own. However, before sending a message, making a payment, signing a document, or deleting a file, it displays an action plan and waits for user approval. Some operations, such as trading securities and transferring funds between accounts, are unavailable even with permission. The agent cannot see passwords or login tokens.
Claude Duet is launched in a research preview format with access via a waitlist. It is currently available to Pro and Max subscribers in the United States on iOS, Android, and the web version at claude.ai. There is no separate fee for the agent; it uses the subscription’s allocated limits.
