4 startups from Kazakhstan have advanced to one of the world's most prestigious accelerators, StartX
Four startups from Kazakhstan — WeGlobal AI, Mirai Tech, Lumia, and Moon AI — have been selected for one of the world's most prestigious and exclusive accelerators, StartX at Stanford University. Participation was made possible through a Platinum Agreement between StartX and Astana Business Campus, which is part of the NU Impact Foundation ecosystem.
StartX is considered one of the most selective accelerators: it does not invest directly, but participation itself is viewed by the venture market as a strong institutional signal of quality. The program conducts in-depth due diligence on teams and technologies, reducing risks for early-stage investors. Among the accelerator's alumni are three decacorns and more than 20 unicorns, with a combined valuation exceeding $120 billion.
WeGlobal AI is an EdTech platform based on artificial intelligence, focused on developing mental health and career guidance for school students. Over the past few months, the solution has reached over 500,000 students and has been implemented in hundreds of schools, uniting students, psychologists, and educational institutions into a single digital ecosystem.
Mirai Tech is a DeepTech startup that has developed a portable AI-powered biomechanics laboratory. Smart sensor insoles and wearable devices enable real-time monitoring of patient recovery and injury prevention. The solution is already being used in the sports industry and has the potential for scaling in international markets.
Lumia is an AI recruiter for the home care market in the US, automating the hiring process. Despite being in its early stages, the startup has already achieved initial international results: during a pilot program in the US, the platform processed over 250 resumes, conducted more than 70 AI interviews, and created a shortlist of candidates. This allowed the employer to fill the vacancy in a few days instead of several weeks.
Moon AI is a next-generation corporate AI agent platform that automates sales and customer support for small and medium-sized businesses. The solution integrates with CRM, ERP, and internal company systems, ensuring accurate and secure data handling. AI agents operate in popular communication channels — from messengers to websites — helping businesses reduce operational costs and increase conversion rates.
In the classic model, only Stanford University alumni can participate in StartX. However, thanks to the partnership between StartX and Astana Business Campus, startups from Kazakhstan gain access to acceleration programs, international venture funds, corporate partners, and the global community of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
To date, more than 15 Kazakh startups have already gone through this initiative. Previously, participants in the program included projects such as Cerebra, DefectAI, Arlan Biotech, and others.
