Yandex Kazakhstan awarded IT projects by schoolgirls at the regional final of Technovation Girls
The season of the international educational program Technovation Girls has concluded in Kazakhstan. Schoolgirls aged 8 to 18 presented their own technology projects focused on education, ecology, inclusion, health, and safety. Yandex Qazaqstan recognized 15 teams from Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Rudny, Turkistan, and Shymkent in special categories.
Events marking the end of the season took place in Almaty and Astana. Participants presented their projects to each other and to an expert jury from the program's partner companies, which awarded the teams in special categories. Previously, the girls submitted their solution presentations to the international semi-finals of Technovation Girls — in July, the program organizers will announce the finalists from each country. The winners of the international competition will be determined at the global Technovation Girls summit in October 2026.

Yandex Qazaqstan awarded projects in four special categories: AI for Social Good, Smart City, EdTech Impact, and Inclusion. Among them:
— an AI-based application for detecting early signs of Parkinson's disease through user movements
— a platform for real-time flood monitoring
— a mobile application for emergency assistance to women and victims of domestic violence
— an online diary for people caring for children with mental health conditions
— an application that helps people with hearing impairments perceive music through vibrations
— a mobile application that helps teenagers in rural areas start small businesses
— a service for analyzing cosmetic ingredients and finding packaging recycling points.

Throughout the program, participants worked with mentors and experts from the fields of IT, business, design, and education. In the 2025-2026 season, the teams were supported by 241 specialists, including 74 employees of Yandex Qazaqstan. The company has been supporting the program for the third year.
Girls from the teams that won in the special categories from Yandex Kazakhstan received gifts from Yandex Fabrika — wireless headphones and a fast charger from the company's own brand.
In 2026, approximately 2,200 applications were received for participation in Technovation Girls Kazakhstan from schoolgirls from different regions of the country. As a result of the selection process, 231 teams participated in the program.
