Yandex Qazaqstan, Astana Hub, and the Alem.ai Foundation are launching ML School Kazakhstan — a two-year program to train specialists in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Graduates will be able to create solutions for the technology sector — from classical machine learning systems to neural networks, computer vision systems, and LLMs. No more than 35 participants will be accepted into the first cohort based on the results of entrance exams — their training will be free.
The program is designed for students and IT, mathematics, and engineering professionals with a high level of preparation. Submit an application by October 8, 2026.
Training will take place on-site at the Alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center in Astana — two to three times a week for three hours. The core curriculum is based on academic approaches and expertise from Yandex's School of Data Analysis.
The program includes fundamental training in mathematics, statistics, algorithms, and machine learning, as well as the study of modern technologies — from neural networks and computer vision to generative artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Lectures and seminars will be led by Yandex experts, faculty members of technical universities, and researchers in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Alongside theoretical study, participants will learn to apply their knowledge in practice. For example, they will work with data, train and evaluate ML models, analyze computer vision and NLP tasks, and become familiar with approaches to developing and deploying ML systems.
The practical component of the program includes meetings with ML specialists from Yandex and other technology companies in the country. Students will examine examples of real-world systems, study their architecture, logic, and technical solutions. Additionally, the program includes project work, during which participants will be able to solve applied and research tasks.
Selection for ML School Kazakhstan will take place in two stages: an online test and an in-person interview. In the first stage, candidates will complete tasks in mathematics and programming. Those who demonstrate the best results will be invited to the interview. Selection will consider knowledge of linear algebra, algorithms, statistics, and mathematical analysis.
Graduates of the main program will receive a certificate of completion from ML School. Participants will also have the opportunity to take additional courses from the School of Data Analysis.
