In Kyrgyzstan, the launch of Starlink satellite internet was discussed.
The leadership of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting with representatives of Starlink. The parties discussed the prospects for implementing satellite internet and developing cooperation in the field of digital technologies.
Primary attention was given to the launch of satellite communications in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the development of the necessary regulatory framework for the service.
Starlink representatives shared international experience in implementing the project, provided examples of the system's operation in different countries, and discussed potential technical and organizational issues.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to establish a working group to prepare a pilot project for satellite internet. The project will allow an assessment of the prospects for using the technology within the republic.
Starlink is a satellite communication system by SpaceX that provides access to high-speed internet through a network of low-orbit satellites. This technology is particularly in demand in remote and hard-to-reach areas where deploying conventional internet infrastructure is difficult.
The meeting participants expressed interest in further cooperation and the development of satellite technologies in Kyrgyzstan.
