The Chinese company Pudu Robotics, together with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development, has announced the construction of the world's first hotel where all key processes will be performed by robots. The project will be implemented on an artificial island in the West Island of the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region.
The hotel will serve as a demonstration platform for embodied AI technologies—artificial intelligence integrated into physical devices. Robots will greet guests, handle check-in, deliver luggage, food, and items to rooms, perform cleaning, assist with navigation, and answer visitors' questions.
Unlike most "smart" hotels where only individual processes are automated, the new project will integrate all services into a single robotic ecosystem. Robots of different types will be able to interact with each other, accompanying guests throughout their stay—from check-in to check-out.
The hotel's operations will be powered by Pudu's own AI platform, PuduFM 1.0, and the PuduAgent agent. The architecture is built on Vision-Language-Action models, enabling robots to understand gestures and speech, independently plan routes, adapt to changing environments, and share knowledge with one another.
During the project presentation, the company demonstrated how the future hotel will operate. FlashBot robots received and delivered orders, PUDU T300 transported luggage and used elevators independently, PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1 cleaned premises, while BellaBot Pro and KettyBot Pro served guests drinks and snacks.
The project is planned through 2030 and will be implemented in phases. The first rooms and robotic services are expected to open for pilot operations by the end of 2026. At that time, visitors will be among the first to experience fully automated hotel services—from check-in to in-room service.
According to the company, Pudu Robotics has already delivered more than 130,000 robots to 85 countries. Its solutions are used in the hospitality industry, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, education, and other sectors.
