In Kazakhstan, the Data Center Valley project will be launched to develop AI and cloud infrastructure.
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, JSC “Kazakhtelecom,” and Aleria have signed a memorandum of cooperation on the development of the Data Center Valley project. The document formalizes the parties’ intention to develop a sovereign cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the country.
The signing took place at the Alem AI center in Astana with the participation of representatives of the government, “Kazakhtelecom,” and Aleria.
The Data Center Valley project is planned to be implemented in Ekibastuz. It is envisioned as the largest data center campus in Central Asia with a capacity of up to one gigawatt. The launch of the project is expected to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a regional hub for digital infrastructure and create conditions for the development of AI under national control.
The memorandum provides for cooperation in attracting investments, developing infrastructure, and localizing technologies. The parties also plan joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and the elaboration of specific areas of interaction.
Special attention is given to forming a sustainable ecosystem of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as defining the roles of project participants.
Aleria is a company from Abu Dhabi that develops infrastructure and platforms for sovereign AI and works with governments and businesses on implementing such solutions at the national level.
