Tolqyn AI Venture Fund with a target size of $50 million will invest in projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and creative industries that have scaling potential.
Half of the fund's capital is planned to be directed to Kazakhstan, Central Asian and Caucasian countries, and the other half to projects in the global market. Kazakhstan will become a key market for the regional portfolio. This approach will allow supporting domestic companies while simultaneously participating in the development of promising international projects.
Creative industries are becoming an increasingly significant part of the global economy, creating new markets based on human capital, intellectual property, technologies, and digital products. According to UN Trade and Development, global exports of creative services reached $1.7 trillion in 2024. Creative services account for about 20% of world trade in services, and the contribution of the creative economy to GDP in various countries reaches 7.3%.
For Kazakhstan, the development of the creative economy opens up opportunities for forming new growth areas, creating highly qualified jobs, and supporting entrepreneurship. At the same time, many digital and creative companies can scale primarily through talents, technologies, and intellectual property, creating products for both the domestic market and an international audience.
Artificial intelligence further accelerates the development of this segment, changing approaches to the creation of software, content, design, games, media, and other digital products.
The cooperation between QIC and Dasco Capital is aimed at developing the venture and creative ecosystem of Kazakhstan, expanding access of promising projects to capital, and forming new sources of economic growth. Final terms of QIC's participation will be stipulated in the fund's documentation.
