In Dushanbe, the Forum on the Development of ICT in Tajikistan was held, identifying key directions for the digital development of Tajikistan up to 2030.
Digitalization of the country is the foundation for sustainable economic growth in Tajikistan. We see that interest from international partners and businesses in this process is growing, and we intend to leverage this momentum to accelerate digital transformation at all levels.
On July 2, the Tajikistan National ICT Development Forum took place in Dushanbe — the largest platform for discussing issues of digital transformation in the Republic of Tajikistan, bringing together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, leading global technology companies, telecommunications operators, the financial sector, the expert community, and academia.
The forum was organized by the professional event agency Apple Events Group in strategic partnership with the Agency for Innovations and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the international analytics company IDC, the Sustainable Development of Cities and Communities Fund "Alma", as well as with the support of leading technology companies Dell Technologies together with distributor SDC, Commvault together with FORTIS Distribution, FG Group, and Freedom Bank Tajikistan.

Holding the forum became an important stage in implementing the state policy of digital development after the President of the Republic of Tajikistan declared the period 2025-2030 as the Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development. The forum brought together key participants of the country's digital ecosystem to discuss practical mechanisms for implementing the national digital agenda, exchange international experience, and develop joint solutions for the development of the information and communication technology industry.
Hakim Ismoilzod, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Innovations and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan
The central event of the forum was the official presentation of the international analytical study IDC White Paper Tajikistan National ICT Development, prepared jointly with the Agency for Innovations and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The document represents the first comprehensive independent study of the state of the country's digital economy and contains a thorough assessment of the level of ICT sector development, an analysis of existing challenges, as well as practical recommendations for accelerating the state's digital transformation.
As part of the study, IDC experts examined the current state of telecommunications infrastructure, the level of penetration of digital services, the maturity of government management in the ICT sphere, the development of cloud technologies, issues of digital sovereignty, and the industry's human resource potential.
Particular attention was paid to existing barriers hindering the development of the digital economy, including infrastructure constraints, high cost of internet access, the need to improve the regulatory framework, increasing cyber resilience, and ensuring the training of qualified IT specialists.
Andrey Beklemishev, Vice President of IDC
Global technology trends today define the development agenda for any country. Our task as an independent international expert is to show where Tajikistan stands in this picture and what steps will allow the country to maximize the opportunities offered by the digital economy.
Oleg Sek, Senior Consultant at IDC
The study shows that the foundation of the country's digital economy is being formed steadily — in infrastructure, data, personnel, and regulation. Reliable energy supply, abundant "green" energy, and growing interest from international investors create a rare window of opportunity for Tajikistan to become one of the regional centers of digital development.
Throughout the day, forum participants discussed a wide range of issues defining the further development of the country's digital economy.

Particular attention was paid to the development of modern telecommunications networks, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, the construction of state-level digital infrastructure, the development of data centers and cloud platforms, issues of information security and cyber resilience, the digitalization of government administration, and the development of international cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.
Separate discussions were devoted to the practical application of artificial intelligence in government administration and business, issues of regulating new technologies, forming a national AI development strategy, and training the next generation of specialists.
The forum became a platform for open dialogue between the government, international organizations, and representatives of the private sector. Participants noted the need to consolidate efforts to implement national digital initiatives, develop modern ICT infrastructure, and create a favorable environment for the introduction of innovations.
The event gained special value from the participation of international experts who presented best global practices in digital transformation, telecommunications industry development, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and digital government administration.
As a result of the forum, participants confirmed their readiness for further cooperation in implementing the recommendations presented in the IDC study, as well as in developing joint projects aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The forum became an important platform for forming a unified vision of the future of the country's digital economy and strengthening international cooperation in the field of innovations, information and communication technologies, and sustainable digital development.
