An international startup pitch competition by IsDB Group will take place in Baku
The Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, together with the Islamic Development Bank Group, announced the launch of an innovation and startup competition for entrepreneurs from member countries of the organization.
The initiative aims to support promising startups that can present their innovative ideas, connect with international investors, and expand their access to global markets.
The competition will take place in several stages. The first stage involves an open international call for applications, where projects will be evaluated based on their level of innovation, business model, team, and potential impact. Then, by May 15, applications will be reviewed by experts from venture funds, development finance institutions, and large companies.
Selected teams will participate in an intensive educational Bootcamp program, which will take place from June 13 to 15. Participants will be trained in fundraising, financial modeling, and the art of pitching projects.
The final stage will feature semifinals and pitch sessions on June 16–17, where startups will present their solutions to an international jury and have the opportunity to connect with investors.
Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes, certificates, commemorative awards, an exhibition package as part of the Private Sector Forum of the Islamic Development Bank, as well as the opportunity to participate in international exhibitions.
Applications can be submitted until April 30, 15:00.
