In Azerbaijan, the National Agency for Cybersecurity Kibertəhliksəyi has been established.
In Azerbaijan, in addition to the relevant state structures in the fields of national security and transport, a National Cybersecurity Agency is being established. The corresponding decree was signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the decree, a public legal entity — the "National Cybersecurity Agency" — Kibertəhlükəsizlik Agentliyi is being established on the basis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, within the framework of e-government in the field of cybersecurity.
The funding for the agency's activities will be carried out from the state budget, including funds that were not used at the time of full fulfillment of legislative obligations.
An administrative committee consisting of four members is being created to manage the agency, which will ensure public oversight and supervision of its activities.
The powers of the President of Azerbaijan regarding the agency include:
— approving the agency's orders and budget, as well as making amendments to them
— establishing the agency's administrative bodies
— reorganizing the agency.
Within one month from the date of the agency's registration, property located on the balance sheet of the Cabinet of Ministers must be transferred to the agency. Additionally, proposals for completing its financial and technical support must be prepared and submitted to the President of Azerbaijan.
