Zero House, a venture residency for young founders, will launch in Almaty.
Zero House is a venture residency program in Almaty for young founders, where you build in public. It begins with a one-week remote onboarding: participants meet, form teams, and go through a selection process.
The top 10 teams spend two weeks at a shared house in Almaty, where they create a product for the global market while simultaneously producing content about their journey—videos and posts documenting their building process. The program concludes with a Demo Day in front of investors, after which Zero House helps teams raise funding and apply to international accelerators.
The program is open to founders at any stage. You can apply whether you don’t have an idea yet but possess relevant skills, whether you have an idea, or whether you already have an MVP with initial users and revenue. Each participant works on what is most relevant to their current stage.
After the one-week onboarding and selection process, the top 10 teams move into a hacker house in Almaty for two weeks. There, they live and work together, developing their product under the mentorship of industry practitioners, with daily stand-ups, workshops, and pitch preparation. The finale is a Demo Day in front of investors.
Each participant publicly documents their journey: filming videos and writing posts about how they are building a startup, what they are building, and what life in the house is like. This reflects the global trend of young founders building in public, which has not yet been widely adopted in Kazakhstan. The content helps grow the participant’s personal brand and builds an audience of future users even before the product launch.
The main value of the program is access to capital and the global ecosystem: after the Demo Day, Zero House helps teams raise investments and prepares them to apply to leading international accelerators.
Who can participate
Young founders from Kazakhstan and Central Asia: developers, marketers, product designers. The stage of development does not matter—both ideas and products with initial customers are welcome. The key requirements are a focus on the global market and English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
