On August 28, the Demo Day of the seventh cohort of the Silkway Accelerator took place in Almaty. This is the flagship acceleration program of Astana Hub, implemented in collaboration with Google for Startups with the support of the Almaty City Akimat.
In 2026, the program was held in Almaty for the first time at the Almaty Hub. Over 12 weeks, participants worked on products, business models, sales, and strategies for international scaling.
At the Demo Day, 10 finalists presented their projects to investors, venture funds, business angels, and corporate partners.
Magzhan Madiev, CEO of Astana Hub
The Silkway Accelerator is a tool that helps technology companies grow faster, expand beyond the local market, and build businesses with global ambitions. It is especially important that this year the program was held in Almaty for the first time. The results achieved by the teams — new markets, contracts, sales, and transformation of business models — demonstrate the potential of Kazakhstani and Central Eurasian startups for scaling.
During the acceleration period, participants entered the markets of nine countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Armenia, the UAE, Australia, and the USA. The total volume of new contracts and deals exceeded $15 million, while the volume of presales reached $30 million.
One of the key outcomes of the Demo Day was the investment intent from Astana Hub Ventures: the fund provided a soft commitment of $200,000 to the AMAN project and $100,000 to the AURA OS project.
AMAN — $200,000 soft commitment from Astana Hub Ventures
AMAN is an AI-based security system that detects incidents and enables rapid response through integration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and other relevant authorities. During the acceleration, the team moved from initial pilots to contracts with universities in Kazakhstan, the UAE, and other countries.
AURA OS — $100,000 soft commitment from Astana Hub Ventures
AURA OS is an AI platform for analyzing corporate operational data and identifying hidden losses and risks. It attracted new clients in four additional countries.
Nurkanat Sabituly, Head of the Digitalization Department of Almaty City
Almaty has significant potential for the development of technology entrepreneurship and the growth of innovative companies. Hosting the Silkway Accelerator in the city for the first time demonstrated that Almaty can become an important hub for technology companies, investors, and international experts. Such programs not only help entrepreneurs enter new markets but also strengthen Almaty’s position as one of the region’s technology centers.
Other results of the cohort include doubling TIRGO’s GMV from $35,000 to $70,000, a $100,000 deal for WelcomeVideo, and the complete transformation of QazTracker into an AgriTech solution for monitoring animal health and safety. The team is currently negotiating the launch of pilots in Australia and the USA.
Aruzhan Mede, Founder & CEO of AMAN
Participating in the Silkway Accelerator became a turning point for serious transformation of our project. We reevaluated our product and strategy, entered new markets, launched pilots and partnerships. The Demo Day provides an opportunity to continue this journey through partnerships, investments, and further scaling.
Aida Dusova, Director of the Almaty Hub Branch
Hosting the Silkway Accelerator in Almaty showed how in demand the opportunity to bring together startups, international experts, investors, and large businesses is. For us, it is important to continue developing this ecosystem, attracting international teams, and helping local startups enter global markets.
Over the years of implementing the Silkway Accelerator, its graduates have attracted more than $48 million in investments, and the combined valuation of the companies has exceeded $500 million. Today, program alumni are scaling their products in the markets of the USA, UAE, Turkey, and other countries.
Holding the seventh cohort in Almaty marked a new stage in the development of the regional startup ecosystem, bringing together technology companies, investors, and international expertise.
