Almaty will host the selection for the international Turkic Game Jam, with the finals taking place in Budapest.

From June 5 to 7, a selection event for the international Turkic Game Jam tournament will take place in Almaty at the Almaty Creative Hub. The project brings together talented game developers from six countries: Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Northern Cyprus, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.

Turkic Game Jam is an international initiative organized by the Turkic Game Developers Association — TuGDA, and TÜRKSOY. The project aims to support young talents, facilitate cultural exchange, and create a sustainable game development ecosystem in Turkic-speaking countries. In Almaty, the hackathon is organized by Almaty Tourism Bureau. The licensee of the event in Kazakhstan is the Creative Kazakhstan agency.

Format and Participation Conditions

Over 48 hours of non-stop work, teams will create unique game projects based on a secret theme announced during the opening ceremony.

Participation is free. To register, the team captain must complete a single application form for all team members.

Registration deadline: until June 1, 2026.

Applications can be submitted on the official website: turkicgamejam.com

Bakhyt Elyubaeva, Deputy Director of Almaty Tourism Bureau
We are hosting the Turkic Game Jam hackathon in Almaty for the second time and are committed to stimulating the development of the IT and creative economy. For participants, this is an opportunity not only to make their mark but also to reach an international level.

At the end of the 48-hour hackathon, an expert jury will select the best Kazakh team. The winners of the local stage will receive the main prize — a trip to Budapest, Hungary, to the grand final of Turkic Game Jam, tentatively scheduled for September 2026. At the international final, participants will present their projects and compete for the title of the best team in the region.
