Uzbekistan secured two global victories at the Global Startup Awards finals

Representatives of Uzbekistan won in two global categories at the Global Startup Awards Grand Finale, which took place as part of the EU-Startups Summit in Valletta, the capital of Malta. On this international stage, where participants from more than 54 countries took part, this result became a historic achievement for Uzbekistan's startup ecosystem.

As a result of expert evaluation and voting by the international community, representatives of Uzbekistan were recognized as winners in two categories: Peritech startup founder Rakhimakhon Nugmanova won the "Ecosystem Hero of the Year" award, and Catextra was named "Best Greentech Startup of the Year."

This success was a logical continuation of the regional final of the Global Startup Awards Central Asia, which took place in Tashkent in September 2025 as part of ICT WEEK with the support of IT Park Uzbekistan. It was this stage that created an opportunity for Central Asian startups to enter the international arena and attract the attention of investors and ecosystem representatives.

Catextra is a platform aimed at promoting transparency, traceability, and responsible production principles in the textile industry. The startup provides manufacturers with tools for mapping, verifying, and tracking every stage of the supply chain. This helps companies confirm the origin of products, transparency of production processes, and compliance with ethical standards.

The recognition of Uzbek representatives in two global categories demonstrates that local startups are capable of competing in the international market, and their solutions can address global challenges. This result once again highlights the potential of the Uzbek market for investors, technology partners, and representatives of the international ecosystem.
