Turkish startup Loom Games became a unicorn after a deal with Scopely
US mobile game publisher Scopely has acquired a controlling stake in Istanbul-based studio Loom Games, developer of the hybrid casual game Pixel Flow. The deal, structured based on performance metrics, values the studio at over $1 billion, placing Loom Games among the ranks of unicorns.
The deal closed just a few months after the release of Loom Games' debut project. In January 2026, the Pixel Flow team also secured seed investments from Akin Babayigit, Arcadia Gaming Partners, and the early-stage investment fund e2vc.
According to Scopely, since its launch in 2025, Pixel Flow has been played by over 10 million users worldwide, with daily active players numbering in the millions. The game monetizes through ads and in-app purchases, generating seven-figure daily revenue.
Pixel Flow is the only casual game released in the last 12 months to have entered the top 20 highest-grossing mobile games in the US.
Loom Games was founded by CEO Kübra Gündoğan and CTO Emre Çelik and is based in Istanbul, one of Turkey's key mobile game development hubs. The studio employs around 20 people. Following the closing of the deal, the founders will retain their management roles and continue to lead the team.
Scopely's Chief Revenue Officer, Tim O'Brien, noted that the combination of creativity, high engagement, and scalability demonstrated by the Pixel Flow team is extremely rare in the mobile gaming market.
For her part, Kübra Gündoğan emphasized that the partnership with Scopely will allow the studio to maintain creative independence while gaining access to expertise and infrastructure for global growth.
Akin Babayigit called Pixel Flow one of the most impressive success stories of the Turkish gaming industry in recent years and noted that the deal elevates Loom Games to the small group of Turkish startups that have achieved unicorn status.
