Students from Central Asia will compete for victory in the global finals of the Huawei ICT Competition
The practical competition of the 10th Huawei ICT Competition Global Final took place at Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, featuring top student teams from more than 40 countries and regions.
This year, the ICT competition consists of six tracks: Practice, Innovation, Programming, Teaching, Challenge, and Entrepreneur. The Practice track attracted over 210,000 students worldwide, setting a new record. After numerous rounds of national and regional competitions, 131 teams advanced to the Global Final and gathered in Shenzhen to compete for victory.
The practical competition covers four technology tracks: Network, Cloud, Computing, and Ascend AI. It is designed to assess students’ knowledge in ICT, practical technical skills, and teamwork abilities.
In the Network track, the focus is on data transmission technologies, data center networks (DCN), security, and wireless local area networks (WLAN). The Cloud track evaluates knowledge of cloud services, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence. The Computing track covers application development using openEuler, openGauss, and Kunpeng. The Ascend AI track covers the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, the full-stack Ascend AI platform, model training and fine-tuning, as well as model inference and application development.
During the Global Final, participants undergo an intensive eight-hour laboratory exam, demonstrating both theoretical knowledge and real-world problem-solving skills.
At the opening ceremony for each track, department heads from Huawei’s Network, Cloud, and Computing divisions shared their perspectives on emerging technology trends and encouraged students to develop their practical skills, innovative thinking, and ability to solve complex industry challenges.
