Startup Wabi, developing a personal AI assistant for everyday life, has raised $55 million in funding at a valuation of $1.25 billion. The round was led by venture fund IVP. Other investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner, Array Ventures, and Amazon Alexa Fund. Entrepreneurs Marc Benioff, Tobias Lütke, Dick Costolo, and Marissa Mayer also joined the project.
Wabi was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously created the AI companion Replika. The new service is designed to be a personal assistant that combines users' daily tasks, contacts, and tools in one space.
The platform uses personalized mini-apps that can be created on demand. With them, users will be able to plan joint events, distribute household tasks, exchange information, and discover new interests. Wabi also allows interaction with AI in shared chats, enabling multiple people to use the assistant simultaneously.
The team plans to use the raised funds to develop the platform, improve AI capabilities, enhance the assistant's autonomy, and expand its audience.
