The 5G+ network has become available in 33 cities of Armenia.

Armenian telecom operator Viva has expanded its 5G+ network coverage to the south of the country. The network is now available in Yerevan and 32 cities across eight regions of Armenia.

The 5G+ network began operating in the cities of Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, and Sisian in the Syunik region, as well as in Dzhermuk, Vayk, and Yeghegnadzor in the Vayots Dzor region. According to the company, the network covers approximately 80% of Armenia's populated territory.

Viva launched its 5G+ network in July 2026 in Yerevan and the cities of the Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn regions. The company continues to connect new cities in the regions.

During testing in Goris, the download speed reached 522 Mbps, while the upload speed was 91.24 Mbps. Previously, Viva conducted the largest purchase of radio frequency spectrum in Armenian history, allowing the company to double its frequency resources. In July 2026, Speedtest by Ookla named Viva the fastest mobile network in Armenia for the first half of the year.

Viva CEO Armen Avetisyan visited Goris and inspected the base stations at the final stage of the work. He noted that residents of the regions should have access to modern communication in their cities, and customer trust is built on the daily quality of services.

The 5G+ network opens up opportunities for solutions based on artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud services, virtual and augmented reality technologies, digital twins, and industrial automation.
