Servercore launched a mobile farm for remote application testing
Servercore, an international IT infrastructure provider, announced the launch of a mobile farm—a service for remote testing of mobile applications on real physical devices. The service is available to development and QA teams from anywhere in the world.
Mobile Farm provides access to a fleet of over 200 smartphones running iOS and Android with various skins and operating system versions, including rare models. Device management takes place directly in the browser: the tester sees the smartphone screen and has full control over it—simulating taps and swipes, working with the camera and scanners, and checking interface rendering across different screens and resolutions. This allows teams to test applications on a wide range of devices without the need to purchase them.
The service supports load, functional, regression, and smoke testing. For automation, integration is available with popular frameworks such as Appium and Espresso, as well as embedding into CI/CD pipelines via API and ADB. Multiple devices can be used in parallel, and access to a specific smartphone can be shared with a colleague in just a couple of clicks, regardless of their location.
The Mobile Farm is particularly relevant for distributed teams that cannot physically pass devices between members. The service allows organizing a shared pool of test smartphones, dynamically managing its composition, and eliminating complexities associated with updating and disposing of hardware. This is especially in demand in outsourcing development, game development, FinTech, retail, logistics, and marketplaces.
During booking, a device is assigned to one user and is unavailable to others. Upon session completion, data is automatically deleted to ensure the security of the client's data.
The service is available under three pricing models: per-minute, per-hour, and monthly subscription. The subscription allows changing the device model an unlimited number of times within the billing period. You can connect to the Mobile Farm via the control panel.
