Claude's memory now works across chat and Cowork

Anthropic has combined Claude's memory with Claude Cowork. What the model learns about the user in a regular chat is now automatically available in Cowork, and vice versa.

You only need to explain Claude the project goals, team working rules, or manager preferences once. For the next task, Cowork will already take this context into account without requiring repeated explanations.

Memory updates in real-time during conversations. All saved facts can be viewed, edited, or deleted in the settings.

Sensitive data — health, political views, religion — is not remembered by Claude by default. This feature can be enabled separately if desired.

The new memory is already available on Free, Pro, and Max plans — on the web, in desktop and mobile apps.
