From local infrastructure to clouds: Servercore's strategy for developing cloud services in Kazakhstan
Servercore, an international IT infrastructure provider, has been actively developing its presence in Kazakhstan for several years. Over the past year, the company announced several product launches and partnership projects. Among the key initiatives and Servercore services implemented in the Kazakh market in 2025 were its own flagship events and market research on IT infrastructure in Kazakhstan.
Product Updates
Servercore continues to expand its product portfolio, addressing key business needs in IT infrastructure development. Throughout the year, the company announced several product launches.
In August, Servercore launched an S3 cloud storage service in Kazakhstan, expanding the coverage of regions and access zones for the S3 service previously launched in Uzbekistan. Designed for large volumes of data, S3 storage allows companies of any scale to address secure data storage and processing needs, optimizing infrastructure costs and flexibly increasing capacity as required. The provider offers two types of storage: standard, which provides fast access to frequently used data, and cold storage, designed for rarely accessed data. Triple data replication in a Tier III data center in Almaty ensures maximum reliability and enables data storage in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
To accelerate AI development, the provider launched cloud GPU servers based on its data center in Kazakhstan in the fall, enabling local companies to speed up model training, data processing, and AI product deployment without capital expenditures. The servers, equipped with NVIDIA A5000 graphics cards featuring 24 GB of video memory, ensure high performance and stable operation even under intensive workloads.
The expansion of cloud server offerings and the launch of advanced IT services in Kazakhstan allow Servercore to strengthen its regional position and enable local companies to implement AI solutions and high-performance technologies.
Grants and Social Projects
Servercore implements grant competitions and supports external social projects, helping to develop small and medium-sized businesses and facilitating the creation of in-demand products by startups. For instance, in February, a special program for Fintech companies was launched. Servercore provided participants with a 50% discount on all services: cloud and dedicated servers, PaaS solutions — Managed Kubernetes, and cloud databases.
Additionally, Kazakh companies that had not previously used Servercore services were offered a grant of 1 million tenge to support the migration of on-premise IT infrastructure to cloud services. This program helped cover financial costs and reduce risks, allowing companies to transition smoothly to a local provider and focus on business development.
At the Terricon Connect forum held in Karaganda in October, Servercore provided grants for cloud resources totaling 1.8 million tenge to three finalists. The certificates were awarded to:
Discons — a digital ecosystem for industry featuring CRM, a marketplace, and AI tools.
SmetaHub — an AI application for calculating and controlling apartment renovations.
AI Companion — a platform for the psycho-emotional diagnostics of employees.
Also, by stimulating innovation and supporting IT professionals, Servercore facilitates the organization of specialized and industry events such as Profit Cloud Days, Go Eurasia, Digital Bridge, and CIO Day, and develops partnerships with Astana-Hub, mosthub.space, and Women in Tech.
Market Research
In 2025, Servercore conducted a large-scale study in Kazakhstan for the first time, surveying representatives of small, medium, and large businesses. CEOs, IT directors, analysts, and developers from MedTech, EdTech, retail, financial companies, and large industrial enterprises answered questions about the development of IT infrastructure in their companies and future plans, taking into account global and local trends.
The priorities in IT infrastructure development were identified as increasing system fault tolerance and reliability — cited by 75.8% of respondents, improving information security levels — 63.3%, and optimizing IT infrastructure costs in connection with scaling plans — 55.3%.
The study showed that the geopolitical and economic situation directly impacts the development of IT infrastructure in Kazakh companies; however, 97% of them plan to increase investments in IT infrastructure. More than 60% of companies intend to increase the number of computing resources in the coming year, while only 3% are considering reducing them.
Servercore Events
IT events by the brand have become a tradition. In March, in Almaty, Servercore representatives held an IT bash — a business dinner for company executives and IT departments, where they discussed how to prevent cyberattacks, convert CAPEX to OPEX, and flexibly scale businesses by using cloud services.
In June, in Astana, the central theme of the event was the development of cloud infrastructure. Yuri Kapelko, Operations Director at Servercore, emphasized that today customers choose providers not only based on price. The approach to customer service and the willingness to help them solve tasks and address specific problems have become decisive. Servercore is precisely such a customer-oriented company, annually implementing more than 100 specialized projects for clients from various industries, helping them solve non-standard tasks and confidently develop their businesses through flexible and reliable IT infrastructure.
At the final IT bash held by Servercore on December 1 in Almaty, experts and company representatives discussed issues related to choosing IT infrastructure for AI/ML tasks and balancing GPU power and cost for AI/ML workloads hosted in the cloud. Experts from Servercore, PayLink, and Allosta participated in the discussion.
Participants noted that the Kazakh AI infrastructure market has already matured: companies are actively testing artificial intelligence technologies, and products with market fit are beginning to be applied to solve real business tasks. Meanwhile, GPUs are increasingly being used not only for model training but also for ML inference, including analytical tasks, anti-fraud, chatbots, and processing large volumes of data.
Client Cases
Year after year, the Servercore team helps local companies implement large-scale infrastructure projects. For example, within just 24 hours, Servercore performed a seamless migration of the digital platform for drug procurement, Provizor, to cloud servers, speeding up the drug procurement process by 1.5 times and ensuring stable availability for a client base of more than 3,000 pharmacies in Kazakhstan.
Additionally, Servercore cloud servers with an uptime level of over 99.98% ensured stable operation of the services of the Kazakh Fintech company PayLink, increasing their availability by 9% and increasing the response speed of IT systems sixfold. An additional advantage of the joint collaboration was the optimization of server resources, which allowed for a reduction in IT infrastructure costs.
