Mystory — a startup that creates personalized books using artificial intelligence

We met with the co-founder of the Mystory project and learned more about the startup idea, its target audience, and achievements.

How it all began

The Mystory startup was founded by a team of entrepreneurs with experience in artificial intelligence, psychology, and content creation. My partner, Nurislam Ashirmatov, served as the co-founder.

We decided to create the project because we felt a growing need for proactive mental health support. We believe that combining advanced AI technologies with personalized content can revolutionize how people receive mental health assistance.

The idea to support children and adults through customizable books, movies, cartoons, and manga arose from our own experiences. We wanted to make help engaging and accessible for all age groups.

We started working in June 2023. In parallel, we participated in the accelerator program by Astana Hub and Google For Startups. We formed the core team right from the beginning, as we knew what we were doing and who was needed for this.

Target Audience

Our product is designed for a broad audience, primarily parents and children seeking personalized mental health support.
We help people first understand and then resolve mental health issues through engaging content — books where everyone can be the main character.
The product is used by parents, educators, mental health professionals, and people who want to give their loved ones a valuable gift.

The user base is constantly growing. To expand the scope of our services, we are establishing partnerships with schools and mental health organizations.

Acceleration Programs

We successfully completed the Silkway Accelerator — one of the best programs in Central Asia.

Challenges

Developing Mystory involved several challenges. These included refining computer vision algorithms for accurate mental health assessment and creating a diverse library of customizable content. The team overcame these issues through continuous iterations, user feedback, and strategic partnerships.

Advice for those at the early stage: don't give up, seek mentors, and iterate based on user feedback.

Achievements

We won the Best AI Startup award at the Astana Hub Battle.
We received investments with a valuation of $1.5 million.

We discovered many new things and made friends with whom we share life values and continue our journey.

Plans

In the future, we plan to launch personalized movies, cartoons, and manga.
